FHRI/WLEDE Close Out Election Observation Mission

It was all fanfare at Eureka Place Hotel Ntinda as civil society organizations Women leadership Development (WLEDE) and Foundation for Human Rights Initiative (FHRI) marked the close out of their election observation mission for the 2016 Uganda election.

The occasion featured the recognition of the efforts of FHRI and WLEDE’S 27 Long-Term Observers who had been deployed to 29 Ugandan constituencies in Uganda to observe the processes of the 2016 general elections on behalf of the above two entities.

The event was graced by the attendance and remarks from Ms Rosette Sayson R. Meya, Adviser – Human Rights, Conflict & Gender. Delegation of the European Union to Uganda, remarks from Mr. Charles Mwangushya, Communications Manager at The Citizens’ Coalition For Electoral Democracy in Uganda (CCEDU). Other attendees and remarks made were from Ms. Edith Ssali, Executive Director of WLEDE and Ms. Sheila Muwanga, Deputy Director Programs at FHRI. All the above commended the election observation work by the LTOs citing that on most occasions the LTOs did great in remitting quality LTO reports to FHRI and WLEDE.
