In 2018 through the “Leadership capacity development and advocacy for street vendors in Kampala District” impacted vendors and hawkers’ leaders with advocacy, leadership and negotiation skills that supported them:-

  • To ably engage the authorities for good working environment and time.
  • Improved the partnership with a number of stakeholders (KCCA, Family & Child protection unit of Jinja Road and Katwe Police stations, FIDA-U and MIFUMI), to support the vendors seek redress in case of violation  
  • Lastly improved the visibility of PLAVU, they were awarded a grant in partnership with Cities Alliance as part of the stakeholders implementing the Cities for Growth (CIG) project funded by DFID UK that is working on the construction of the Entebbe and Jinja Express highways.
