Today we celebrate a day so dear to us, it embodies our entire identity and fabric. today we celebrate 61 years of independence.
Officially recognized in Kitugum district this year under the theme “sustaining a united and progressive nation: taking charge of our future as a free nation” This year’s theme recognizes Uganda’s history and compatriots who patriotically provided and sustained the leadership ideology and momentum towards perpetual self-rule and reliance.
The celebration is set to happen in Kitugum with hundreds of special guests including high profile dignitaries this with the Chief Guest H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni set to commission the newly completed Kitugum central market and the “Bigwa” a new sustainable three wheel heavy duty vehicle locally made by Kira motors.
Today the country boosts a population of 45.85 million with a GDP of over 40.53 billion USD, Let our flag fly high throughout the country and share all our six stripes of three colours and our flying crested crane. The black stands for country, yellow represents sunshine, and red symbolizes brotherhood. Let also remember how crucial it is to revive the ingredients of success to Uganda and a wider Africa.
