FOLLOW-UP MESSAGE – 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM AGAINST GBV
As we move deeper into the 16 Days of Activism, we are reminded that ending Gender-Based Violence is not an event but a continuous commitment. Every story shared, every voice raised, and every action taken brings us closer to a society where women, girls, and all vulnerable groups live free from fear and harm.
This year’s theme “Invest to Prevent Violence Against Women & Girls” (2025) calls on all of us—communities, leaders, institutions, and individuals—to move beyond awareness and take bold, sustained action. Prevention requires resources, leadership, compassion, and the courage to challenge harmful norms.
Let us use these days to recommit to:
✔ Supporting survivors with dignity and solidarity
✔ Strengthening community protection systems
✔ Holding perpetrators and institutions accountable
✔ Investing in programs that empower women and girls
✔ Raising the next generation to value equality, respect, and safety
The 16 Days may be short, but the work continues every day. Together, we can build a future where violence is not tolerated, where justice is accessible, and where every person has the freedom to thrive.
