2020 Annual Report

Dear Friends,
2020 was such a unique year like no other, with challenges and most of all the pandemic that disrupted operations globally and earnestly impacted the NGO sector. It was noted how action or inaction at the local level produce nationwide and global consequences.
Further, recognized how the pandemic inappropriately impacted human rights more so for the vulnerable.
Despite the economic, social and political upheavals we experienced, we are gratified to have remained deeply connected with our constituencies and communities during the lockdown and the rest of 2020. We continued developing their capacity, disseminating information, advocating for women & youth leadership and amplifying their work nationally and globally using the new normal initiatives. In the face of living and working in isolation, we innovated and adapted new ways to convene, collaborate and connect. We continued to identify challenges and ensured sustainable community owned and community led solutions to address them, We would not have done that if we were alone, for that we are grateful to our development partners, networks, management and staff for the resilience and passion that saw WLEDE achieving 2020 goals.
